I recently began eating dragon fruit aka pitaya and I’ve been blown away not only by how delicious it tastes but also by its awesome beauty uses! Check out some ways you can use this unique fruit to beautify and heal without using chemicals and toxins in typical beauty products.
1. As a mask to soothe redness and acne – Cut a slice of dragon fruit and blend it into a paste and apply it to your reddened areas on your face or skin, then rinse with water. For best results, use twice daily.
2. Soothe sunburned skin – mash up dragon fruit and add in some cucumber juice and honey and you create a balm similar to aloe that can soothe burned skin. Abundant in vitamin B3, dragon fruit heals, while cucumber juice cools and honey moisturizes the skin.
3. Revive color treated hair – Using dragon fruit juice on your scalp, you can protect your chemically treated or colored hair. The juice will help moisturize and condition the hair, allowing your hair follicles to breathe and remain healthy and smooth.
